My POV Brian A. Wilson
Academy Presents All 75 Best Picture Winners
Need one more reason to be glad you live in LA? Or to move here if you don't?
Then let me present "Facets of the Diamond," the latest film series from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (aka the Oscar people).
This unbelievable series presents each and every picture that has won the Best Picture Oscar over the last 75 years.
As a writer, could you ask for a better opportunity to study your craft?
The Acad sold passes for $75 for the entire series, but those sold out quickly. You can still buy tickets for individual screenings for a mere $5 each. Get the lowdown at:

The series runs until December 2003. Already it has been a fascinating journey, watching as the language of the medium develops.
Perhaps the best part of the series is having the privilege of watching it in the Acad's state-of-the-art theater. Most prints are sparkling, the projection is magnificent and the sound rocks. Randy Haberkamp, who put the series together for the Acad, also strictly enforces the prohibition on cell phones, talking, eating and the various other rude behavior that has become too common in movie theaters.
It's worth five bucks just to be able to watch a movie without having idiots talking behind me!
The Academy is on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
Check it out, get on down there and get inspired.
Keep writing.
