Well... I was right about the Superbowl! I hope a lot of you struggling writers made some money. I made a few bucks myself, pardon the pun.
I move in to my new house in Burbank on February 15th, so I'm starting to get pretty excited about it. The thing is, everything is set for me to launch my career -- the right way. I've grown and matured as a screenwriter. And not only do I believe that the quality of my work is high, I've now been getting aknowledgement from others attesting to the same. Not only that, I have the education and experience of both film school, and having directed four short films and an award-winning documentary. The only thing that can stop me from succeeding now is (knock on wood) my health.
Even so, I have to maintain a sense of discipline. Discipline is what got me this far, so I have to remember that discipline will take me that much further. Writing everyday. Rewriting everyday. Brainstorming everyday. Reading as often as possible. Learning as much as my brain can soak in during a given time period. Sharing with others what I know. Being courteous. All these things add up to happiness and achievement.
By the way, I finally heard from Section Eight. One of their interns called me, but I wasn't there to receive her call. And everytime I call back, she's not there. So... I'll keep trying and keep you guys in the loop.
