If you never have sold a script, is it easier to sell a spec feature script or a Movie of the Week to television? The answer is a feature script. A feature screenplay that is sought after will sell regardless if the writer has no credits. The television business is very different. It's a medium where originality is shunned and recycling the same old tired ideas is the name of the game. It's a tightly closed working environment that rewards the same small group of people who have track records even if their records don't particularly stand out. Television only cares if they can grind it out on a weekly basis. |
