There has been a great debate on whether writers should sign release forms in order to submit their material to production companies. Release forms are agreements allowing writers to submit unsolicited material in exchange for waiving their rights to sue if the company produces a project similar to theirs in the future. It's my opinion that most companies are not going to steal your material from you. And if you don't sign a release form, your material will not be read. My position is that I will sign any form now and still sue them later if there's a problem of theft. |
