Writers like to stay at home, lock the doors, and live in their imaginations. This is just the way it is most of the time. However, if you want to have a better chance of actually getting paid to write, you're going to have to leave the house every so often. I know, it sucks. Oh well. I recently attended the Screenwriters Expo and remembered how important it was to get out there and interact with other people in your craft. You absolutely have to. The more people you know in the business, the better chance you'll have of working for a living in that particular business, be it screenwriting or whatever. So get your ass out there! Go to screenings, seminars, book signings, conferences, whatevers. Who knows? You just might learn something in the process. Plus, going to seminars and conferences is another great way to procrastinate!
Until then...
Don't forget to enter the 3rd Annual Winner Take All Screenwriting Competition. Each of our first two winners attained representation within a month of our announcement that they had won!
