Hey sports fans! Get the edge you need to win! Soon to be the #1 sports betting guide on the net -- Online Bookie Guide.
Okay. There are a ton of programs out there devoted strictly to screenplay software. Blockbuster, Dramatica, Totallywrite, etc. Do any of these work? Of course! But do they help? Probably not. At leasr not in the way you think (or hope) they will. I recently bought Writer's Dreamkit, which is a Dramatica theory program. It took me three days just to get a notion of what the hell this program was talking about. And I still have no clue how to use it. The software is completely convuluted, and has a ridiculously high learning curve.
In other words. Don't buy it unless you're willing to spend the next two months of your life learning a new language, literally. I looked at all the help articles, tutorials, and walk-throughs to know avail. It was a complete waste of time, money and energy.
Adios. Se la vi.
So then I go off and buy Totallywrite. I can tell you without a doubt that this program is a hell of a lot easier to understand than Dramatica or Writer's Dreamkit. Whether or not it is actually helpful to the screenwriting process is a whole different story. I'm going to work with it all this week and will issue a full report next week...
Until then...
