Nabokov said that one should use quotes when saying the word "reality." That's especially true when you're trying to break into the screenwriting business. The "reality" is that it's very very difficult to get an agent or manager to read your script. The "reality" is that lots of mediocre screenplays somehow manage to get an agent or manager interested.
The "reality" is that lots of fine screenplays slip through the cracks. The "reality" is that lots of bad movies are released into thousands of theaters every weekend. The "reality" is that you can wait for someone to come to you: you have to get out their and be fearless in your quest to find somebody--ANYBODY--who will like your script enough to eithe represent it or if it's a producer, take it to a studio or find financing somewhere.
The "reality" is that timid, meek, shy and thinskinned screenwriters aren't going to stand much of a chance of having a career.
So get "real" and start getting your script out there. |
