Actors can't help you. Unless you've written something that they love and they have the clout to get a movie made, which means they have to be a movie star and I mean a HUGE movie star because SMALL movie stars don't necessarily have clout and even HUGE movie stars can't get a project off the ground all that easily.
Actors might be able to help you if they're up and coming and they like you and your work (but mainly your work) and they know other actors with a little more clout or they know an up and coming director who's looking for a certain kind of project to do and yours just happens to be the kind of project the guy's looking for, so the actor you know gets the director a script and he loves it and takes it to a studio and suddenly you're in the middle of a deal.
But this almost never happens.
Actors can't help you. Well, at least not most of the time. Maybe the best you can hope for is that one will recommend you to his agent.
But that hardly ever happens because actors agents tend not to represent screenwriters.
So concentrate you energy on getting to know agents and producers.
(But actors tend to be more fun to hang with). |
