Some days you sit down to write and nothing happens. You have the desire and the energy, but it's just not coming out.
You have a choice: stick with it. Stay glued to your monitor and try to force something out. If you write in longhand first, you can just stare at the empty page.
But it might serve you better to just do something else that relaxes you in ordered to get your mind off your mini writer's block.
After you've been writing long enough in terms of years, you pretty much know when it's there and when it's not. And even though it's hard to walk away when it's not, it's usually the wiser choice.
